Self-worth

Self-worth—

• A nine letter phrase describing the way one perceives his/her existence; one’s opinion on their value or standing in life •

SELF-worth, similar to SELF-esteem, can only be determined by one person: yourSELF. I believe that knowing your own self-worth is crucial for living happily in society in this day and age. We tend to forget our own importance while admiring our peers’ lives. We lose sight of our own worth when taunted with negative criticism. We shouldn’t have to be reminded of our self-worth– we should just know it. Have you ever taken a minute to recognize how much you have to offer to this world? Have you ever thought about the positive impacts you have made on the lives of others? Have you ever explored the unique characteristics that form the amazing person you are? Highlighting your strengths and recognizing your own significance can boost your self-esteem and instill confidence in yourself. Stop comparing yourself to others. Do not let anyone belittle or disrespect you. And realize your self-worth, because I promise you’re worth a whole lot.

Remember:

“Your value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth.”

“Self-worth is so vital to your happiness. If you don’t feel good about you, it’s hard to feel good about anything else.”

“Self-respect, self-worth and self-love all start with self. Stop looking outside of yourself for your value.”
